Recently, at an exclusive event held at the Toyota showroom at Wattayah, Saud Bahwan Automotive unveiled the all-new Toyota Camry. The event was attended by H.E. Jota Yamamoto, Ambassador of Japan to the Sultanate of Oman, Mr. Shunsuke Chijiiwa, Deputy Chief Representative of Dubai Office at Toyota Motor Corporation and distinguished guests from both the public and private sectors.

Building on its resounding success, the TOYOTA GAZOO Racing MENA Esports Cup battle continues for the fourth year in a row, with registration doors open until 8^th August 2024. Officially sponsored by Toyota Motor Corporation, the championship is organized by Desert Fox Racing and supported by the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, which secured the finals venue at the Gaming Dome (Ark Gaming Center) in the capital city of Amman. Held in cooperation with Jordan Motorsport, the championship is backed by the Jordan Esports Federation chaired by H.R.H. Prince Omar bin Faisal. The highly anticipated 2024 season will bring together skilful simulator drivers from 16 countries to compete, with two from each proceeding to the regional qualifiers. Then, the top 24 drivers will go through to the finals taking place between 17 and 19 October. The first-place winner will be granted a USD 10,000 grand prize, while the second-place and third-place winners will receive simulators from Next-Level Racing.

Project Manager of the TOYOTA GAZOO Racing MENA Esports Cup, Izz Bustami, stated, “We are delighted to have earned the trust of the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile, Toyota and other partners for the fourth consecutive year to host the region’s largest championship. We thank them for their continued confidence and ongoing support.”

He noted, “In this fourth edition, we are presenting opportunities for over 1,000 gaming athletes to showcase their digital racing talents, empowering participants to challenge their capabilities while also showcasing Toyota’s innovative work within the motorsports arena, ultimately ensuring that the joy of motorsports transcends traditional boundaries.”

Registration opens for enthusiasts from participating countries starting 18 July through 2 August 2024. With significant advancements in digital racing in the region, this year’s races are anticipated to be fiercely competitive. As customary, the winner of the TOYOTA GAZOO Racing MENA Esports Cup will then go on to secure a position in the global final of the TOYOTA GAZOO Racing GT Cup scheduled for the end of this year.

The third group includes Saudi Arabia, Oman, Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates, with the national qualifiers concluding with the fourth group bringing drivers from Qatar, Kuwait, Yemen and Tunisia. Each country will earn two spots in the regional qualifiers, scheduled for Saturday 14 September.

As always, the organizing entity holds several events alongside the championship competitions. These encompass various tournaments accompanying the main event, notably the Nations Cup, where drivers from each country take turns participating in an endurance race, in addition to the University Challenge and the Jordan Tandem Drift Championship finals.

The 17th Toyota Dream Car Art Contest is scheduled to be held across Saud Bahwan Automotive’s Toyota showrooms across Oman. The event is open to all legal residents of Oman aged 15 years or under. The objective of the competition is to encourage dreams of young children and bring their inspirations to life on paper through their creative sketches.

Like each year, this year too, the 17th Toyota Dream Car Art Contest has exciting prizes for winners. The winners of the national contest will be eligible to take part in the world contest. Conditions apply. Participants can draw their automotive imaginations using any paint including water colours, markers, and crayons. The sketches must be drawn with hands only. Digitally created artwork will not be accepted. Artwork should include a background and should be submitted on entry forms available at any Toyota showroom / service facility.

Judges will select winners based on originality of the art, the concept, artistic expression and colouring. All artworks should be submitted with an entry form signed by the participant and a parent or guardian.

Since 2004, every year, through the Toyota Dream Car Art Contest with the theme ‘Your Dream Car’, Toyota aims to reach out to budding young artists around the world, to nurture the creativity of young dreamers while offering a creative opportunity to pursue their dreams.

Toyota’s crossover Veloz SUV is spacious, power-packed and built to take you and your loved ones places.

The Veloz makes an impressive mark with its fuel-efficient performance, easy manoeuvrability and ample interior space. The Veloz features three rows of seats that can comfortably accommodate seven passengers due to flexible configurations, to offer an exceptional ride. Saud Bahwan Automotive and Oman Shell signed a contract for the purchase of 16 Toyota Mirai Hydrogen vehicles. The event was attended by Mr. Abdullah Mohamed Bahwan, Managing Director – Corporate, Saud Bahwan Group as well as Walid Hadi, Oman Shell’s Senior Vice President and Country Chairman, besides other Senior Management officials from Oman Shell.

This milestone is part of Oman Shell’s ‘6th Gift to the Nation’ initiative – a Green Hydrogen for Mobility project. Towards this, Oman Shell has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Oman Airports Management Company (Oman Airports) where Oman Shell will provide Oman Airports with 15 Toyota Mirai Hydrogen vehicles for corporate usage. This project comes in line with Oman Vision 2040 priorities related to decarbonization and supporting Oman’s energy transition.

The project will include development of hydrogen production units that will be powered by photovoltaic solar plants and installing it at a state-of-the-art fueling station near Muscat International Airport.
