Saud Bahwan Automotive proudly announces the highly anticipated arrival of the Toyota GR Yaris to the Sultanate of Oman. Born from the heat of competition in the FIA World Rally Championship (WRC), this modelintroduces the new Aero Performance Package, developed to elevate aerodynamic efficiency, cooling performance, and driving stability. The launch marks an exciting new chapter for driving purists in Oman, offering them a vehicle that wasn’t merely adapted for the track, but born from it.
Developed with the expertise of the TOYOTA GAZOO Racing World Rally Team—the force behind Toyota’s five consecutive FIA WRC manufacturers’ championships—the GR Yaris is the brand’s first model developed with a “motorsport-first” approach. It serves as a rolling laboratory, refined through the rigorous demands of the Super Taikyu Series and the Japanese Rally Championship to deliver unmatched confidence and control on every road. As Akio Toyoda (Morizo), Toyota Chairman and Master Driver, noted, “The GR Yaris is a car developed for the win. In the past, we tried to succeed in motorsport by adapting production cars for competition—this car reverses that process. There is no limit to how far we can improve it, and the final touches should be made by your own hands.”
Under the hood lies the heart of a champion: a 1.6-litre inline three-cylinder turbo engine (G16E-GTS) that delivers an explosive 300 HP and 400 Nm of torque. Drivers in Oman can choose between two transmission options—the newly developed 8-speed Direct Automatic Transmission (DAT) for rapid, seamless shifting, or a six-speed intelligent manual transmission (iMT) for a more direct, mechanical connection. Power is managed by the GR-FOUR full-time 4WD system with an electronically controlled multi-plate clutch and three selectable modes, ensuring optimal traction and stability across diverse road surfaces.
The new Aero Performance Package enhances aerodynamic efficiency through six precision-engineered components, including a ducted aluminum hood for improved cooling, a front lip spoiler to reduce lift, fender ducts to sharpen steering response, a variable rear wing for high-speed stability, rear bumper ducts to minimize drag, and a fuel-tank undercover that smooths underbody airflow.
Inside, the GR Yaris features a driver-focused cockpit available in a sporty Black x Red theme or a minimalist Full Black option. Its lightweight body—featuring an aluminum hood, doors, and rear hatch, along with a carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic (CFRP) roof—ensures a low center of gravity and superior handling. Safety remains paramount with Toyota Safety Sense, which includes the Pre-Collision System (PCS), Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC), Lane Tracing Assist (LTA), as well as Blind Spot Monitor (BSM) and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert (RCTA).
The new GR Yaris will be available in five distinctive colors, including Platinum White Pearl Mica, Precious Black, and Emotional Red. Saud Bahwan Automotive invites performance enthusiasts across Oman to experience this rally-bred masterpiece firsthand. Official sales of the GR Yaris and the Aero Performance Package will commence on December 24, 2025.
